The latest news regarding Simon Cowell’s health is very encouraging as he is ‘feeling great’ and recovering well from his serious back injury. He is focusing on getting back to full health so he can make a big return for the Britain’s Got Talent auditions in 2021.

Although The Sun reported that Simon had been disappointed that his recovery was taking so long and he had a ‘rough few weeks’ he is now feeling positive and determined to be back at work early next year.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Simon was advised not to fly back to the final by doctors. He is walking a lot and swimming and feeling great – but focusing on being on top form for the start of filming for Britain’s Got Talent 2021 in January.’

It was hoped Simon would be able to make an appearance on the BGT final but was advised by doctors to rest. Similarly, doctors also vetoed Simon for flying back to film the BGT Christmas Special.

A source revealed: ‘Simon hoped he’d be well enough to fly from Los Angeles to the UK for the special show but he’s had to pull out.

‘Plus the new lockdown measures — and him having to fly two weeks before the show so he could quarantine in advance — made it even more difficult for him to make the journey.

‘Simon will of course be across the show and what happens on it but this is a massive blow for him as he adores.’

Although fans are disappointed Simon has been off screen for some months, missing both the America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent finals it is encouraging news that he is resting and recovering.

Despite being poorly, Simon thrown his support behind the struggling theatre industry. He has lined up three big West End productions to perform on the BGT Grand Final.

Big names including Michael Ball, Matt Lucas, Carrie Hope Fletcher, John Owen-Jones, Shan Ako, Killian Donnelly, Zizi Strallen and Charlie Stemp will showcase popular hits from musical theatre favourites.
