It’s been reported today that Simon Cowell is set to add to his already hefty work schedule by returning to America’s Got Talent as a judge, now that Howard Stern has stepped down.

According to The Sun’s TV Biz Simon will be undertaking to appear on America’s Got Talent in addition to X Factor UK and of course Britain’s Got Talent.

This could prove to be “a potentially massive logistical headache” as he will obviously have to fly between America and the UK, possibly at least twice a week, if not more.

The Sun also adds, “Simon has always wanted to do AGT,” but states that because it airs on NBC, and he formerly had a deal with FOX, “his hands were tied”.

However, a US TV source remarked, “Simon has been off the television in the last couple of years focusing on family life. But with his comeback to British screens, he also wants to make his way back into America."

"And he's more than used to the travel."

“He feels this is his show and one of the biggest NBC has to offer.”

No stranger to American TV audiences, Simon first appeared on US television on 'American Idol' from 2002 to 2010 before launching the US 'X Factor' in 2011.

However after the show failed to take off in the States, he decided to return to the UK version last year.

And if Simon does join 'America's Got Talent' he will be reunited with his former fellow 'X Factor' judge Mel B - who was axed in favour of Rita Ora earlier this year - who sits on the judging panel alongside Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and the departing Howard Stern.

What do you think? Would Simon be a welcome addition to the AGT panel? Tell us in the comments below...

The Sun reports X Factor boss Simon Cowell has drafted in the help of one of his boyband "big guns" to help him at Judges Houses this year.

The newspaper claims that Simon is planning to bring One Direction star Louis Tomlinson to his Judges' Houses stage of the competition as his celeb mentor.

He plans to bring the One Direction star onto the ITV talent show because the pop supergroup have 'always been big ratings winners', and hopes 1D's loyal fan-following will be sure to boost ratings.

A source has told the newspaper: 'Simon is pulling out the big guns as he is still determined to make this series a huge success.

'One Direction have always been big ratings winners and Louis is the most outspoken of the band. He won't be afraid to tell people if they're terrible, which Simon loves.'

Louis could replace Simon's regular mentor Sinitta at the Judges' Houses stage, which this year, for the first time ever, will be broadcast live from four locations around the world.

Sinitta has already given her view on Louis joining the X Factor team, gushing it 'would be amazing,' if Louis considered joining the ITV series as a full-time judge in the future.

'He spent a lot of time with us last year, mentoring the talent and watching rehearsals,' Sinitta explains. 'I could definitely see him going into music management and production so it's a good place to start.'

A music industry source told The Sun at the time: 'Louis spent a lot of time backstage at The X Factor last year, partly so he could spend time with Simon and get to know how the industry works.'

A spot on this year's X Factor could be the perfect jumping off point for the singer, who is expecting his first child early next year.

Simon Cowell has donated £10,000 to the Syrian Refugee Crisis Appeal after being moved by media reports of the mass flight from terror and toddler Aylan Kurdi's resulting death.

Simon has told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “It would be truly humbling to meet Abdullah and learn more of his family’s terrible plight.”

Simon, dad to one-year-old Eric, said: “When you see the dad’s reaction and you think it could’ve been mine, it breaks your heart.

"If kids are being put in this position, you have to help.”

A source close to Simon added: “Simon has been moved by the images of Abdullah’s family and the situation in general, particularly as a father.

“Simon supports lots of charities already involved with young children and has always been family focussed, which is why the news this week - and especially the plight of Abdullah’s family - has hit him so hard.”
